During the month of March—Jono Carreiro’s birthday month—his family has launched Headfirst merchandise, a special fundraiser in his memory to raise awareness and funds for mental health. This initiative not only honours Jono’s legacy but also keeps the conversation going about mental health in our community. The idea for "Headfirst" came naturally. At its core, it’s about prioritizing mental health—putting your head first. But for those who knew Jono, the name holds even deeper meaning. As an incredible athlete and natural leader, he led with heart, determination, and always—headfirst.

This campaign is about more than just raising funds; it’s about starting real conversations. Inspired by the original How Are You Really? campaign, created by Charmaine Collins in 2021 through Mask Off, Jono’s family are truly honoured to partner with them to offer this impactful design as part of the Headfirst fundraiser. The message is powerful: it encourages people to check in with themselves and others, fostering open and honest discussions about mental health.
$10 from every sweater & $5 from every hat or t-shirt will support The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario, ensuring local youth have access to vital mental health resources. Merchandise is available until April 4th—help us make a difference!

This tribute to Jono is incredibly meaningful, and the Headfirst campaign truly embodies his spirit, serving as a reminder to prioritize mental health and lead with heart. We, as a web design agency, draw inspiration from the fundraiser's clean and impactful presentation, which raises awareness through subtle yet powerful visuals and messaging. The partnership with Mask Off’s “How Are You Really?” campaign has a meaningful aim, and the decision to allocate proceeds to The Grove’s youth wellness hubs demonstrates remarkable care for the community. Jono’s family deserves praise for turning loss into purpose and promoting open discussions about mental health.
