We are excited to once again partner with Headfirst on their mental health awareness merchandise fundraiser in support of Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario Wellington-Guelph. Launched last year, this meaningful initiative raised $3,000 for youth mental health supports in our community. What began in the fall of 2017 as an Integrated Youth Services initiative has grown into a comprehensive, trusted network supporting youth and families across Guelph and Wellington County. Built on the vision of a system where health and social services work side by side and where young people can “walk through one door” to find the support they need this initiative has evolved into The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs, and now Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO) – Wellington Guelph.

Eating disorders are serious but treatable mental illnesses. In Canada, more than 1.7 million people experience an eating disorder at any given time, including an estimated 1.4 million youth. Despite how common these conditions are, only about 25% of young people receive the care and support they need. Across Canada, eating disorders continue to be significantly undertreated. Research shows major gaps in access to specialized services, especially outside major urban centres.
