As Summer quickly approaches and the school year comes to an end, this is the perfect opportunity to refresh and recharge. A great way to recharge after the stress of exams and school is by focusing on your mental wellness.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and during Mental Health Week, observed from the 6th to the 12th, the emphasis is on compassion and kindness. While it is important to lead a life of compassion and kindness towards others, it is equally as important that you remember to be kind and compassionate to yourself. We’ve compiled the top 10 tips on self-kindness and maintaining mental wellness this summer.Â
1. Get outside Enjoy the beautiful weather and fresh air by spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for a walk or sitting in your backyard. 2. Get moving Go for a walk or ride your bike. Just enjoy not having to sit in a classroom all day.Â
3. Stay connected Just because you aren’t seeing your friends every day at school doesn’t mean you should stop chatting with them often. Keeping in touch with your emotional support is critical to your overall wellness.Â
