The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is recognizing Volunteer Appreciation Week. Each volunteer contribution, big or small, creates momentum and has the power to influence and inspire, joining a wave of positive change. We see this daily at The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario. With over 60 active volunteers, individuals and groups share their time, skills, empathy, and creativity with local youth.
The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is celebrating National Volunteer Week - April 27th to May 3rd. The theme for National Volunteer Week 2025 is Volunteers Make Waves. It highlights the power, impact and importance of individual and collective volunteer efforts across Canada. Volunteers are vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario.
“Thank you to all our volunteers for making positive change in the lives of youth across Wellington County and Guelph. Your generosity, dedication, and compassion are the heart of The Grove. We simply couldn’t provide the breadth of programming and services that we offer without the support of our incredible volunteers. Whether connecting with youth, supporting events, offering expertise, leading a program, you help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered. On behalf of all the youth we serve, thank you for inspiring hope, building community, and helping us make a lasting impact,” says Jeff Hoffman, Executive Director of The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario.
Volunteers like Tara, an educator who supports youth with tutoring, coaching, and tools for success:
“Whether it’s helping with homework, building resumes, or just being there for a conversation over a cup of tea. Some days we play games or join programs—I'm up for anything! Watching young people grow inspires me. I'm grateful to be part of such a caring, like-minded team at The Grove, all working together to uplift and empower youth. Volunteering here truly fills my bucket.”
And volunteers like Peter, sharing his skills and teaching local youth to play the guitar:
"It's exciting - there's always something going on. You feel really at home coming here and you feel like you're doing something for the community because when the youth are in here, they're not out on the street. I grew up in downtown Toronto and I could've used a place like the hub, it would've really changed things for me and I think it's definitely something that is needed now more than ever."
And volunteers like Max, a student at the University of Guelph who helps facilitate activities at The Grove:
“I wanted to get involved in the community and make an impact, and I reached out to the Grove and have been loving it (volunteering) ever since.”
